Too bad the other girl is behind her. Other wise your photo would have been perfect. Try softening her skin a bit more with a free little program called NEAT IMAGE. Just google it and voila.
Beach photography tends to be tricky... too much sun, oily skin from the sun blocker etc. This program will help you a bit.

Your DOF was good. Were you using manual or auto.

Megan, the title here really takes away from your subject... we know this is your photo. No really a need to let us know.

Uh.. did I say she has killer eyes?

Megan,
you have a really good photo here. You have the subject clearly stated and good details with the subject.
if you wanted to detract the person behind without removing completlt, you could do a b&w background and your subject in color. I do that if one or the other subject is a bit blurry, tends to draw them out of the scene.
I use one program to do this, but recently found a free one called piccasa picasso something like that its mentioned alot on here, anyway, on of the tools in it lets you choose an area size and keep it in color while everything else is converted to b&w.
might want to check into it.
