[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
One more from Guatemala this time a photo taken on the streets of Solola on market day ( Friday ).The residents of this small town of 10,000 are Kaqchikel Mayas, a large population of men and women continue to wear traditional Mayan clothing . No doubt it's a colourful market ! Solola is located on the mountainside overlooking Lago Atitlan , a beautiful lake 600 meters below .

Hi Carol! Another one that jumped out at me from the thumbnails, because of the content:)
We were in Solola too, but only passed through on our way back from Panajachel, and not on market day. Do you remember seeing the interesting cemetary there?
This really captures all the action and busyness of those markets. Every little area of this shot shows a different story - there's a transaction going on in the front right corner, and the women in red on the left with their little ninos all tucked in .. a very important part of their lives obviously as a means of income, but also a real social atmosphere.
Thanks for posting this one my friend:) Brings back fond memories.

Damn good scan. What scanner do you use 'cos I've got hundreds of negs and slides to digitise?

A fantastic market scene. Well metered and very detailed. I'd like to go back to Guatemala to replace my analog pics from many years ago. Just like what Trudy said, Solola has a fantastic cemetery as viewed from the main highway. Thanks for posting this...it brings back many plasant memories. Regards...Danilo

A streetscene ive seen so many in Indonesia,market just between some trucks and buses,even the filks look the same;].
This is reality Carol,I like it.
