[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I've been wanting to post this shot for months but due to the fact that these folks are my parents I decided to wait. I was home for a month and we decided to do our tradtional 'dress up in our best' and take some formal family portraits. This is not one of them but my favourite due to the twinkles in thier eyes.;-)
As you can see I'm always struggling with the contrast in skin tones and would love some advice in regards to these situations.
Ran this shot thru neat image and played with levels, sharpening and curves.

A serie of "beautiful":

beautiful composition, beautiful lights and shades, beautiful contrast, beautiful couple and of course, beautiful parents !!! :)

They look so fun. I love the colors and the warmth they convey. I must say the man's eye twinkle makes him appear a bit mischiveous. Very nice and full of fun

Hi Jean, great picture of a very happy and cheerful couple! They look lovely! Thanks very much for sharing. I'm sorry I can't help you with the techniques.

Wonderful picture Jean !
I love these beautiful faces !
Congratulations !

Great shot Jean. You have goodlooking folks. Very good double portrait. Like the fact that they occupy the edges of the frame. Nice, soft colors.

This is what photography should be .... candit portraits as nice as this one. I love the grey hair, the grey beard - this is wonderful. You must be very proud of them.
Maybe the Dodge Tool in Printshop would work on your dad's skin.

I just tried a workshop.

This photo takes us into their beautiful souls Jeannie...those high cheek muscles indicate your parents have had a lifetime of making smiles a priority each day:-)I love the penetrating sparkles in their eyes.

Great capture, nice faces ! I would have preferred your Mum closer to your Dad, there's an empty space in the middle of the pic.
Apart from this, very nice expressions ! I really like your Dad's look, it seems he is going to start a joke.. ;-)

A great capture, Jean. I like the joy in your parents faces - they smile with their eyes. Good colours in the traditional dress. Well done.

A really vivid image, Jean. It's full of life. I like how your two parents are expressing the same happiness, with the same sparkling eyes. There is a lot of joy and tenderness here. Congratulations for capturing a pose with such a natural feeling. Beautiful personalities too. Derek's ws is adding the cherry on the cake.

This is a priceless picture. Absolutely wonderful, radiant people.

Thanks,
Marleen

Great portrait, I like the eyes and the smile of your parents !
