Royal Caribbean's newest ship "Freedom of the Seas" should be completed in the Spring of 2006. They claim it to be the largest ship in the world with a total capacity of 4,370 persons. Just so they don't claim it to be "unsinkable." Here is a portion of a press release regarding Freedom of the Seas: Freedom of the Seas will be the world's largest cruise ship when she enters service in April 2006 at 158,000 gross registered tons. The 3,600-guest ship (double occupancy) will sail year-round, seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries from Miami. Bookings are scheduled to open in spring 2005.

Excellent shot Tim. I think I could live on that for a week or two:) They are both attractive ships, but your bigger one looks monstrous alongside the smaller one. The food consumption is eye-boggling too.
It would have been a holiday to remember on a trip like this, so I am very happy for you and Mrs Tim.
Blessings to you both
Janice

Beautiful picture and Serenade is a well known view for me. I went to Alaska one week in august with S. Legend of the Seas is smaller (70.000 tons) but also a ship I love. I crossed the Pacific Ocean and the Panama Canal with Legend. They have even larger ships than these ones. I think the largest one is 140.000 tons. My favourite size is a ship for 700 passengers, but that means more expensive tickets. A problem with cruising is all that food - you have to eat all the time, because food is irresistible!
