[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi, this is our Aupair-Girl, she had until today long and strong curled hair.
As i stepped in our home, she caught me and begges i had to take some pictures of her new hairstyle.
PS. removal of rred eyes, adjusted levels, top layer unsharp mask and changed opacity to 85%. unfortunately i resized the picture so she could send it to her family per mail. After i decided to post this picture i cropped it, so it's fairly small.
bye alex

Well I a not sure if your note make this photo more interesting, becouse photo seems to be not absorbing at the end.

It might be a little too bright... I think that it might look better if the light from the flash didn't lit her face with that white light, but flashes are the devil sometimes, we need them and they just show themselves too much ;-)

I was about to make the same comments as alagoa when I read her comments.
Yes the flight directed to the face of the lady is not the right solution to make a nice portrait.
It would have been much better if you place the lady near a white wall, but aim the camera in such a way as to have a dark background. Then orientate the flash on the white wall to have a bounced lighting. Or may be towards the ceiling if it is white. Or another solution would be to have a large white diffuser attached to the flash. But by no means try such portrait with hard light oming straight from the flash to the face.

Alex this is a very good portrait, with shining hair and sparkling eyes, very well done!

Looks nice as a Portrait and has all her teeth.

Alex, were you sad to see the long hair gone? Is this your daughter? I love her new hair style and tell her it is very becoming to her. I also admire her aristocratic neck. Enough has been said already about the direct flash in portrait work, so my congrats on your post of a lovely girl.....:O)

Nice smile. Is your Aupair-Girl from Austria? Good PS work. I like the pose, and can see that she must be good with children. A warm smile this.

Hello, Good start, the person was giving you her smile with pleasure and the position of the shoulders and the face are good.
The classic rules of the composition are also valide for the portrait.
Here the nose is just in the middle of the photo. You could leave some space on the right when you took the picture.
Here, you made a low key and the white shirt in the left bottem corner is disturbing the equilibrium. You can correct it in making it darker or with more density.

I see there are some "needs improvement" critiques. The question is if you like this portrait and if you used the light and composition intentionally. Because your portrait stands out the typical "beautiful portraits" that people like :-)
