A chalice from the treasure in the Melk Abbey.
Picture taken through glass, handheld.

tech stuff: crop, levels and curves, applied directional lighting to push back the bg, then brought back the subject with the history brush, slight increase in saturation, border and downsized.

Is that GOLD?? Grab it!! WOW! Nice piece of artwork here. Would love to get my hands on it. Shooting through glass is really hard, but you managed well here Otto!!

Hi Otto,

You are lucky to have opportunity to capture this thing . .
I believe it's a very clear glass. . and you did well controlling the light . .
Great shot my friend . .

Tfs,
Tjutjut

Hi Otto,

Yes Austria has a lot of gold on display - I remember the first time we went inside a small cathedral in a backstreet in Insbruck - the whole inside with covered in gold - almost too much to take in.

Good capture through class of this precious treasure.

Well taken through the glass Otto and minimal flash disturbances. Lovely colour and detail and your PP enhanced the beauty of the chalice,
David

Hello Otto,

A really impressive antique piece!
Looks like gold and lots of jewels, and I prefer to think they are all real...
Good details and fine colour reproduction, a couple of reflecting spots but they are small..!

Greetings,
Pablo -
