Central Cemetery in Vienna
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The people of Vienna are said to be very morbid. They have a special relationship to the death.
This relationship shows every now and then in strange museums, during funerals or in the style of the cemeteries and the chruches you can find there.
The "Zentralfriedhof" (Central Cemetery) is one of the most famous sights of Vienna. If you want to learn more about it, just follow this link to Wikipedia .
What you see in this image is the Dr. Karl Lueger Gedächtniskirche, where funerals with lots of mourners are held.
Following the main path from the main entrance you come up to this church.
I've been to that cemetery with one of my classes during a class trip. We visited some graves of famous composers and musicians and to the end of our visit we came to this church. The day was grey, the sky was full of clouds and the sight very impressive - so was the atmosphere on the cemetery.
PP: selected the church and adjusted brightness and contrast; sharpened; added frames; resized and sharpened again
Thanks for having a look. Have a great Sunday and a good week. Kind regards, Britta |
