Vienna from above

I've kept this shot for quite a while in the archives but want to share it now with you.
I've been to Vienna, Austria, with one of my graduating classes and somehow enjoyed the trip although my class wasn't much fun. It took me some time to fell in love with the city but now I think it is a city one should visit if possible.
This shot was taken from the famous Ferris Wheel in the "Prater" of Vienna. I liked the light on all these buildings. And I felt that this view expressed what I thought about Vienna while being there: a crowded place. But although crowded and full of buildings, the city looks pretty. The architecture is interesting and of historical interest. Modern buildings fit in perfectly.
While I stayed in Vienna I missed nature so much, flowers, trees with leaves - simply said: something green. Back in 2008 in April in Vienna nature was still asleep... That is another aspect this image shows me whenever I look at it.
PP: cropped, sharpened, reduced noise, adjusted contrasts slightly, added border, resized
I hope you like it. Thanks for having a look. Have a nice second half of the week. Kindest regards, Britta |

Hallo Britta,
I like this POV of Vienna, good shot from that big wheel :) I haven't taken a ride on that want, but I always want when I'm in the city. :) The enlightment is beautiful, I really don't mind that it's a bit dark, larity and sharpness of the buildings make it a powerful image. Good job, TFS!
Best wishes,
Kristof
