I made this photo on that winter in The Independend Squire. This is the Simion's and Alena's Catholic Church.

Between the East and the West...

The majority of the citizens of Belarus are the Christians: Orthodoxes, Catholics and member of Uniate Church. The Uniate Church is the unique in its own way. It unites the Catholic and Orthodox traditions. At the certain stage of history foundation of the Uniate Church allowed to avoid religious split in the society. Other Christian churches - Calvinists, Lutherans, Baptists - are represented to a lesser degree. There are also Judaic and Muslims communities.

We have the rectitude of the catholicism in a classic way represented by the shape of that building... At least by here during the brgin of the 20th century... Religion was practically more powerfull then the politic laws to influence! So the building is massive and strong!
