[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Here's another one from Liesbeth & Robin's wedding.

The newlyweds needed a lot of patience that afternoon, their photographer did her job very well and she had them assume numerous poses.

I took the occasion to shoot some pics while they were posing for her. This is the reason why they don't look into the lens, which I really like here.

Tech talk

Croppity-crop.

The original was rather underexposed. My mistake. I should have used either spot metering on their faces, or I should have compensated the auto exposure somewhat...
Two reasons for the error in exposure: it was a partially cloudy light situation, where part of the scene was in direct sunlight, and the other in the shade. Also, the white dress is a large part of the picture, so the impact on the light meter was rather heavy. Mea culpa!

I corrected the light with MS Digital Image Pro's Exposure - Add Flash tool. This forced me to use the Noise reduction tool to correct a bit of noise, so some of the sharpness on the faces has gone as well.

Blurred the background some more.

Turned the white limo into a blue one to be less distracting.

Slightly boosted the saturation.

Added Frank's framing.

Classical, yet good. Colors are great and newlyweds are always beautiful subjects. I also like the fact the aren't looking at the camera, this kind of pictures are always interesting and more sincere.
Good job!

Mooi koppel
mooie foto
herinneringen 55 jaar geleden!

Hi Frank

I like the good use of a shallow dof & superb sharpness. The lighting looks difficult & slightly uneven. For example the lower part of the wedding dress on the right has good contrast but the rest is fairly monochromatic. A good try.

I think it worked out to be a good shot Frank. It looks like the grass might have been the best netural target for metering. It is always such a challenge! Nice job. B

Great shot, Frank! You did well correcting the light; I was going to say you did well with the light! The little nitty-picky me will comment on the car in the background. But overall, a great weedding shot!

thonk the subtle changes are worth while here Frank, turned out to be a very nice wedding picture ..very good work!!

Lovely couple - live long & prosper as Spock would say! I've added a workshop to change the exposure a bit.

I am not a specialist of this kind of photography but of the weddings :)))
I like it but of course you are not their official photographer so they do not look at you, and may be there is a lack of space at left if they were at your direction.
I like it because it is not an official wedding photography:))
Jean Michel

nice shot, it is a profit indeed that they aren't looking in the lens.
the colours are good and i like the softness of the dress.allthough there's a thin line around there heads, i guess that's from the blurring of the bg.the compo is good.well done.

Excellent shot and well done on the composition.
I like the scene and the their look.

Tip
If you don't have a lightmeter, metering the medium tones from on camera will help, or will be a good starting point.
I would have liked to see what you could have done with "Au Naturelle."
A wedding photographer has many distractions to deal with, changing the color of the car is a no, no. IMO no excuses Frank.

Excellent work Frank

Mike

I must say that I like your picture better than the official photographer. Your angle is more pleasing I think. The fact that they are looking off camera works better too, except maybe for the husband's eyes. He looks like he wishes he had sun glasses ;) I agree with Kirsten about the thin line but it's not that noticeable. Great work Frank.
ps: looks like I'm going to be shooting some weddings in a month or two also.

Hi Frank,
this is a really nice wedding photo!
If I had known, I would have asked you to be our photographer :)
Excellent colour tone and detail, well done :)
