[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Last week Ann & I took Dingo for a walk in Duffel, near this place.

Ann noticed these blue appearances, damselflies or libellen in Dutch. As they were mating, I managed to take just two shots before they disappeared again.

Because of the vegetation I didn't get a really good angle, this came out best.

I'm showing little activity on TL lately, for which I'm sorry... but I had a good reason: my dSLR's sensor had gotten dirty and I spent all possible time looking for ways to clean it. I didn't want to send it in and part from it for a couple of weeks ;o). Today I managed to clean it... after having shed a couple of liters of sweat ;o)).

Tech talk

Cropped; landscape to portrait.

Downsized for TL as per usual - not much, because of the crop... USM 85 %, 0.8, 0.

Added Frank's framing.

Hi Frank,
that's an amazing moment you could capture.
I love damselflies so much, also had the luck to see this spectacle last year. Very well done, thanks

Frank, amazing shot - absolutely spot on in every way! Paul.

LOL, mating pictures on TL... how dare you? Very good catch, actually, with a nice DOF. Considering the conditions, you did very well. TFS!

Superb capture despite difficult conditions, Frank. Very good sharpness & details. I really like this vertical composition where all of the lines are going up & down. Well done!

This is a really good macro Frank.

Hi Frank, great capture! They are so difficult to photograph, beautifully done.

marleen
sorry no more greens today

HI Frank,

Considering the circumstances, looks like you did well!
Vivid colours & details. I like the DOF but it's just a bit noisy. Did you run it through Neat Image?

Well done :)

Hi Frank

Very nice shot. Great catch of these two dragonflies in "duty". Great colors, excellent sharpness. Very nice.

a beautiful shot, what a capture, stunning colours, well done, M, (*_*)

sorry...out of points..

Aha ! The famous FF again ;-)
Well detailed, interesting, pleasing colours, good compo. Perhaps a little low on contrast/sharpness...?
Hmmm, I'll try to find something to match ;-)
Well done Frank

hie hie, I like the part in the note about dirty sensors... ha ha ha.. back to your pic!

I think the white in the flowers are distracting from the main subject, the dragon fly. It is a good closeup and great colors. otherwise... lots of good things to talk about in this pic!

Wow!! This is lovely Frank, the angle is not bad at all and the DOF excellent. The well balanced lighting and delicate colors, give your image an ethereal look. Well seen and captured!
Vassilis

Gee! I like how you catch the both! A POV with great effect! The blur is dynamic! I like how its show! A mix of sharp and artistic blur!
A delicate mood who work well!

Hi Frank,

Nice capture. When everything needs to be done in a split second it much much tougher to get the shot.

The white balance seems a bit off as it is all to green. Did some editing and could show you the difference if you want to.

TFS,
Pedro

I think you can only get the damselflies still when in action like this!!
Nicely captured Frank, I have never managed one shot at them, good job from you! I like these blue versions.
Send me your address please so I can send you my camera - I think it will be a lot quicker for me to post you my camera that what Canon takes here.

Hi Frank,
This is superb, I like this excellent DOF and the blue of these damselflies contrast a lot on the blur green background. The focus and sharpness are really great, to see all the beautiful details. Very very well done.

Hi Frank.
What an excellent picture! The detail is wonderful and so sharply caught! I also enjoy the tender lightning! is it natural?
Congratulations.
Luci

Lovely capture! Colors are great and the DOF control is perfect Frank. I like the branches' diagonal position to the frame.
Congrats both Ann and you!

En français ce sont des libellules. Très intéressant macro Frank et très bien réussi compte tenu des conditions...

Soft and that's the beautiful thing here....

Considering these are very skittish insects..and so teeny meeny, you have done a splendid job here. The colours and sharpness are wonderful. I like how the insects add a dash of blue and a small pattern to the picture! TFS

Amazing shot. Great catch of these two dragonflies with a nice DOF.Well Done.
