[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
...the train platforms ☺^☺.

A view on the staircase in the Antwerp Central Station. I was lucky tonight, for there were not that many people walking around the place, or worse, hurrying to catch their train.

Under the station clock you can see the Belgian coat of arms with the slogan "L'union fait la farce". Err... "force". More on that in the ws section.

Tech talk

Taken handheld in rather strong backlight; on the left hand side you can see the sun shining through the window...

Een prachtige foto met een perfecte belichting! Zelf het beetje OE in de grote deuropening is super, de figuur in het heldere licht is een schitterend detail! Klasse plaat Frank.

What a gorgeous station! It seems that most of the buildings in the U.S. are so modern... certainly not the character of the old train stations in Europe (there are a few, but none like this).

Very nice... Looks like a place I would like to visit if only for the beauty of the station!

Amazing architecture well capture despite the strong backlight . Pretty neat shot here . You handled very well the luminosity.

I find odd the two ''Dumbos'' ..... the two colored elephants. They seem to me to be in the wrong environment ( LOL !)

G'day Frank - interesting compo 'cos you're standing on the centreline of the stairs yet the image is wider to the right than the left! Also there seems to be a tilt to the right..I think the backlight has led to a slight under-exposure inside the building.
I like the sharpness and the subject.

Pff, gelukkig schrijf je niet to heaven - dat zou eens onderzocht moeten worden hoeveel foto's die titel hebben gekregen.

Prachtige foto van een gelukkig goed bewaard stationsgebouw. Er zijn er hier al teveel verloren gegaan onder het mom van de vooruitgang.

Hi Frank,
Lots of different values of light and tone going on here, that's for sure.
Your positioning to keep the sun, I assume, itself just breaking through the upper windows lower sash is very good and interesting to the eye.
The detail, given the intense backlighting, of the indoor architecture and components is very good as well.
Intentional or not, the combination of slow shutter and high backlight creates a very ethereal look and feel to the people heading out the door at the top of the stairs, pretty cool--"don't go into the light". ;0)
There does, as "WhiteKnight" pointed out, appear to be a slight right tilt but I'm more interested and impressed by all the rest.

Een mooie opname van een prachtige stationshal.
Dat de foto een beetje 'tilt'rechts heb ik gezien,maar vind ik niet belangrijk.Wat mij opviel was het woord 'PAX' (vrede) boven de slogan,en heeft me aan het denken gezet.
Mijn eerste reactie; ver te zoeken de laatste tijd! Al die kreten hebben eigelijk niets om het lijf.
Maar het e.e.a.doet niets af aan deze opname.
Goed gezien en op de plaat gezet!

It's true, Antwerp Central Station is a truly amazing building.
This picture makes me think of drawings's Schuitten. There is an particular atmosphere that emanates from this picture.

" Bijna " ... en wat volgt is " IMO "
uiteraard.

De eerste blik leek me goed omdat er aangename kleuren inzitten, wat diepte, ...

Tweede blik.

De echte symmetrie, wat volgens mij dé sterkte van de foto
zou moeten/kunnen zijn qua compo
is er niet.

Belichting.
Het licht door het glas is voor mij wat OE.
Indien mogelijk of wat milderen of laat het echt " stralen ".
Dit laatste is echt " beeldbewerking " maar, 'k zie dat hier
wel zitten.
Had zoiets in mind als van die zonnebalken die door wolken
priemen. Heel prominet.

Langs de andere kant ... TFS,
heb me weeral eens kunnen ontstressen
door gevoelens te kanaliseren

A great looking railway station,I should expect there is lot's of history to this building,I wondered about the two elephants either side of the stairway?slightly out of place or are they?
