[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The belfry of Bruges, one of the most beautiful in Belgium, dominates its 84 m of the Grand Place and Les Halles. Its two floors, square, dating from the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries. Its crenellated facade makes it one of the most typical representatives of the architectural style "Bruges" or "Flemish". The Town Hall, Gothic, testifies to the past grandeur of Bruges, the "Venice of the North, formerly bridgehead for trade with England and northern France. The decline of the city began in the fifteenth century, partly due to the gradual silting of the harbor. The statue of Jan Breydel and Pieter de Coninck commemorates the memory of the Battle of the Golden Spurs (1302), highlight the assertion of Flemish identity consciousness, where people successfully resisted the expansionist ambitions of the neighboring French.

Hi John - I'm going to perhaps sound a little brutal here but as photos go this is a very poor one..

Firstly the image is very dark - your camera has exposed for the brighter sky so the foreground has come out way too dark and under exposed. I would suggest you make use of the 'histogram' function either on the camera or in PS. There are also techniques for lightening various parts of the scene in your PS software.
Secondly the whole image is tilting to the right quite dramatically. Just take a moment longer when you compose the shot to make sure it's straight. Often at wide angles you'll have converging verticals but this whole scene is tilting..
Thirdly I feel that there's too much sky at the top. The rule of 1/3rds works very well and if you cropped some of the sky out and had the flags at about 1/3rd from the top of the frame then the whole scene would look more balanced.
