Huisdieren zijn inderdaad een vorm van troostschenkers, Erik. En ik kan het weten, al moet ik dan niet echt getroost worden ;o).
Een goeie invulling van het woord... de dame met het hondje op deze manier vastgelegd werkt echt goed, maar de rest van het shot wordt gedragen door een goeie compo. Ik zie niks da'k zou willen anders zien. Behalve dan die paal, maar zelfs die heeft een functie - als het een reutje is, tenminste ;o))

This is a beautiful shot. Textbook composition and a dramatic but restrained frame contribute to an image that is just so easy to view.
The path along which the eye can easily follow to the distant hazy landscape; the walker-and-dog appropriately off-centre in the frame.
I guess the only 'blot' could be the lamppost, but then again I kind of like the way the dog is snuffling "oh so casually" towards it ... an irresistible temptation in the world of a dog.

Hi Eric,
Indeed a fine picture with a great title! Like the composition, although I prefer to have this view without the concrete pole on the left (see my WS). Nevertheless the well balanced colours are perfect, the road act as a nice lead in which take my eye into the image. Altogether a well balance picture nicely presented in the black frame.

j'ai du mal à saisir le rapport avec le mot consolation, difficile d'exprimer un concept aussi abstrait
sinon c'est bien cadré et la compo est intéressante

Je me console en regardant ta photo et je me dis que dans un mois environ notre paysage sera comme le tiens avec un peu de verdure;)) pour l'instant c'est l'hiver tout autour de nous et il neige encore au moment de ces lignes, Belle composition et jolies couleurs, mes compliments..

ik hou vooral van het zicht op dit mooi, glooiend landschap. Doet me een beetje denken aan een wielerklassieker... Twee zaken die misschien wel wat storen : wat "gruis" in de lucht en de lelijke paal links (kon je wellicht vermijden door 2 seconden te wachten en een paar meter voorwaarts te stappen ?). Maar al bij al, een best te genieten foto.

Very beautiful picture ,with great tones and atmosphere.I think title fits good,but ...:)
I have dog and love of dog isn't consolation it's the first prize, believe me:)
But I know what you wanted to show here , and you did it on great way !!

Hi, Erik!

Picture composed nice, the social solitude of the lady taking the dog for a walk with his dog shocking. The road leading into the distance symbolize the line of the life somehow, nearing the end of the life. Very beautiful picture, I would have prepared it in black and white possibly, the over without a stressed framework.

Excellente perspective et sujet principal bien campé dans le cadre. La photo semble avoir été prise après la pluie e l'humidité est encore visible au loin. Malheureusement, je ne vois pas très bien le lien avec la consolation.

De foto op zich vind ik een goed idee :
langs de kant van " de, lange, eenzame weg "
met het hondje als ouderling op stap
de paal als pispaal van het leven ?
( dat zal er wat over zijn denk ik :-) )

Maar ... ik hoop dat je hier meerdere foto's hebt van genomen ! Ik lig wat overhoop met de compositie.
sta hierin alleen, trek het me niet aan :-)
Misschien wat door de knietjes ?
Als je toestel het kan, dan kort na elkaar een paar
fps-foto's : om de juiste stap voor haar te vinden.
Door die witte schoenzool is het beeld bevroren
Eventueel eens op 1/30ste of 1/8ste nemen ipv 1/400 ?
Trek het op niks dan kieper je het weg ...
Overwogen om het in B/W te zetten ?
'k Weet het : ik ben ne moeilijke kerel
en indien je dit persoonlijk zou willen zeggen,
dan geef ik je de raad om asap een bonneke te nemen
om de wachttijd niet té groot te maken ...

Une belle image, très forte, mais elle me semble plus parler de solitude que de consolation.

La perspective centrale est audacieuse, mais j'aime bien. De plus les couleurs et la lumière de cette photo sont très agréables. le ciel gris-bleu donne très bien.

Niet bepaald een beeld dat "troost" bij me oproept Erik, tja ik heb dan ook geen hond hé ;-)
Maar voor de rest prima fotowerk, met de weg die in de foto leidt en de bocht/splitsing achteraan die een ondersteuning geeft aan het achterliggend landschap.
Op naar consolation#3 (bakje troost ? ;-) )

Hallo Erik,

Op zoek naar het soort van landscap waarin jij woont, kwam ik deze foto tegen en inderdaad die paal intrigeerde mij.
Ware het niet dat ik hem zie als een doel voor het hondje om tegen te plassen en als richting aanwijzer, dan zou ik zeggen "weg ermee" gewoon eruit clonen - nu heb ik inderdaad het gevoel dat hij een functie heeft in het geheel.

Goed idee om binnen een theme te werken.
Het zou zo maar eens kunnen zijn dat de hond voor de dame troost in haar bestaan betekent.
Volgens mij heeft ze het koud, er waait vast een gure wind.

Bonjour Erik,

La ligne diagonale du chemin est un atout à la composition. Tu as bien saisi l'action de la dame qui proméne son chien. La prise de vue envoie notre regard vers les arbres en arrière-plan ce qui donne de la profondeur à la composition. La brume légère a un bel effet sur les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.
