And I was thinking as I read the recipe that you were telling us a recipe for dandelion wine...

This is a great photo—a combination of two timeless subjects: rusty tractors and dandelions.

On my monitors (mac and pc) the BG seems slightly too dark. Perhaps this adds to the lonely mood / theme?

TFS,
Michael

A bit too dark/gary maybe but I love your compo.

thanks,

What a nice recipe of Dandelion Seed Soup. Very well narrated and tfs. I liked the silhouette. best wishes.

Hi Erik!

Very interesting shot! I like silhouettes and composition!

Regards,
Edward

Several critiques so far have mentioned the darkness of the image - Ed referred to the tractor as a 'silhouette.'

Inevitably when we view a photograph we make assumptions - about what the photographer wanted to show us, about what we are "supposed" to see - and base our critiques upon those subjective frames of reference.

This is certainly a subdued and subtle image. There is the shape, and indefined detail, of a tractor. There are the unmistakeable shapes of dandelions along the bottom of the frame. There is sky - roughly 50% of the image.

I don't mind the hidden, slightly mysterious nature of your subject, but I do find it doesn't sit so well with the brightness, and ratio, of the sky.

If you laid a gradient - either black, or even orange! - over the upper portion of the frame, or alternatively cropped to a "cinematic" style framing at top and bottom - I think the image would have far more style and finesse.

Just my contribution ... feel free to (dis)agree!

Hi Eric,
I like this shot. Just one remark, maybe a crop of sky about 15-20%, but it is just me.
Regards, Nebojsa.

Hello Erik
Excellent POV; I would call this one «work and poetry».
Superb the power of the tractor and the contrast with the flowers against the grey sky. Excellent the option for the b/w presentation adding a very good and strong mood.

Bonsoir Erik !
Un très intéressant que nous nous soumettons.
Réalisé et joué excellent.
Une soirée tranquille,
Adrian

To me this picture has a lot of poetry. Perfect composition

Nice compo and gorgeous dandelions.
Peaceful agricultural scene.
The sky is a bit grainy, but it actually adds to the image.

ciao Erik..
an old style really effective.. with a nice effect dark and rich of mood!
b&W is superb!.. great composition!
thanks
ciao Marco

( black and white )

Groetjes
Jan
