Here is the first one of my new series on “Triage-Lavoir de Péronnes” (abandoned place)
This huge concrete building, which was a coal sorting and washing factory, was built in 1954 with help of the Marshall plan (sponsored by the USA after World War II). It was used for only 15 years …
So the building is empty now for more than 30 years. Many windows are smashed, but the concrete structure is there. But it is a very dangerous building : there are many holes in the floors where machines used to be : you can fall everywhere if you don't watch your step…
About photography, it’s a nice place, with a lot of interesting things and geometrical area.
This first one is a global view of the building, seen from outside
PP: I have done monochromatic pictures by using PS 7

Bernard this is a pretty unusual looking building. We also have buildings that are "classic" which are abandoned and it seems such a shame. TFS, B

It's great, I can't wait for the series, just watch your step with all those holes.
I love this sepia tint that the image has, it adds to the whole 'run down' effect.

very very nice picture... congrats

Nice pic of what looks like a great piece of architecture, nice POV and a good color, fits the mood of the pic and the note.

This is a very spooky photo Bernard . . . you have captured that weird feeling of Wallonia this time of year. I really like the perspective which gives good movement to the photo. I look forward to the series.

Very nice Bernard, I like the angle you chose for the shot it shows the size of the building. The monochromatic effect works well with the building being it's abandoned.

Great mood shot, Bernard. Composition and sharpness are first rate. Makes a statement about the excesses of the industrial society.

Hi Bernard, this is a great one. Very strong compo and your treatment pp is great.

Looking forward to more postings of this building.

Marleen

this is massive and impressiove, the building looks so full of character, it's just another example of negligence of us modern people who chase after modernization, sometimes we forget the richness of the classical architecture.i'm looking forward to your series, always liked these historical buildings.thanks for sharing with us.

Très belle photo Bernard, bâtiment très imposant. Très belle prise, ces endroits sont les meilleurs pour prendre de très bons clichés. Et soyez prudent!!

Here again, the colour gives atmosphere in this picture. Nice view on this real not-in-use-anymore building ! Strong shot !
