This is the second one of my new series on “Triage-Lavoir de Péronnes” (abandoned place)
For one’s who didn’t read it before: ”This huge concrete building, which was a coal sorting and washing factory, was built in 1954 with help of the Marshall plan (sponsored by the USA after World War II). It was used for only 15 years …
So the building is empty now for more than 30 years. Many windows are smashed, but the concrete structure is there. But it is a very dangerous building : there are many holes in the floors where machines used to be : you can fall everywhere if you don't watch your step…
About photography, it’s a nice place, with a lot of interesting things and geometrical area.”
This second one is still outside the building (level 0). (be patient for the inner … ;o)
I like it for the lighting and the shading off.

Voici la seconde de ma nouvelle série sur le “triage-lavoir de Péronnes” à côté de Binche (Un site industriel abandonné)
Pour ceux qui n’avaient pas lu avant : « Ce géant de béton, qui servait à trier et laver le charbon, a été construit en 1954 grace au plan Marshall (reconstruction de l’Europe avec l’aide des USA après la guerre 40-45). Il n’a servi que 15 ans …
Cela fait donc plus de 30 ans qu’il est vide. Toutes les fenêtres ont été brisées, et les bétons commencent à se dégrader fortement. Mais la structure résiste toujours bien. C’est un endroit très dangereux. Il n’y a pratiquement aucune cloison, les étages communiquent les uns les autres, et de nombreux trous sont présents dans le sol, à l’endroit d’anciennes machines et autres. La moindre distraction, le moindre faux pas, et vous vous retrouvez en bas.
Au niveau photographique, c’est un merveilleux endroits, avec des contre-jours, de nombreuses formes géométriques de tous genres. »
Cette seconde photo est toujours vue de l’extérieur. (niveau RDC) Soyez patient pour rejoindre l’intérieur … ;o)
PP : J’ai basculé ces photos en monochrome avec PS7
J'aime assez bien celle-ci pour son côté éclairage et dégradé de lumière

Hi Bernard, I love it when you do those series because you are a master at it. Very nice picture, the mood is oozing out of it. The choice for B&W with the sepia enhances the mood. The gradual light is wonderful

Now, practical question - how do you get in in those buildings, do you ask permission or how does that work ? Just curious...
