Nothing special at the photographic level. It's more in homage with the US soldiers and allied which came to die for our liberty during the second world war. This photo has been shot, at the time of the commemoration of the release of the Town of Mons, September 2 of 1944, It'was a tank Stuart, the "Fish and Chips" who entered the first. This tank, which always runs, became the Mascote of Town of Mons. Indeed, after its trip in Germany in 1944/1945, it was offered by the US army at the time of their return in 1946. One will never thank enough our liberators. Never forget them!
This photo was shot with a Kodak DX4330. It's a US Sherman.
Post-process: cropped, black and white, correction color for sépia effect, in order to give it a historical aspect, as if it was yesterday...

**** 13/09/04: I added some noise to increase the old aspect, and decreased the sepia tone.

C'est vrai Bernard, il ne faut "jamais oublier" !
Une très belle photographie bien dans l'esprit de l'époque.
Excellente composition.
Très bien réalisé.

Belle création artistique pour amener l'effet «vieilli». C'est parfaitement réussi comme manipulation. Le choix de l'emplacement ajoute beaucoup à l'authenticité recherché. Côté technique, rien à reprocher. L'ajout du bruit est bien pensé, mais peut-être un peu trop accentué? On commence à voir apparaître un peu d'artifacts vert. Pour être totalement dans le look d'époque, il faudrait peut-être remplacer la bordure noire par une bordure blanche jaunie et écornée! Bon travail Bernard!

Je te dirai que c'est très bien comme photo et pour tout le travail fait ramener l'ambiance du temps passé. Une excellente présentation. Tant qu'au sujet de la photo c'est autre chose et j'aime mieux pas en parler.

Hi Bernard, I'm not sure is a contemporary photo or not. i guess that means that if it is, you did a good job! I love the tones and noise. Nice additions and a very effective photo.
