[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
[PP: strong colour desaturation, much much contrast added (as to obtain a washed-out impression as well on the foreground as in the far background), slight sharpening after resizing for TL]

In reality, planted spruce woods already are quite minimalistic. Here, I’ve tried to boost that mood. As to the title, no need to explain I think (feel free to let your imagination work ;o)).

Les sapinières plantées ont d’office quelque chose de minimaliste. Ici, j’ai essayé de souligner cette ambiance. Quant au titre, je ne trouve pas qu’il doive être expliqué (à vous de laisser libre cours à votre imagination ;o)).

Aangeplante sparrenbossen hebben in werkelijkheid al iets minimalistisch. Hier heb ik gepoogd die sfeer nog meer in de verf te zetten. De titel behoeft wat mij betreft geen uitleg (laat uw verbeelding gerust de vrije loop ;o)).

de titel en foto zijn een mooi inspirerend geheel
vind het wel iets hebben
iets mysterieus, beetje xfile sfeertje

Mooie plaat.. Door het felle contrast krijgt het haast iets van een negatief. Artistieke foto.

hello Erik!

how photo can be so scary!!?? these are only trees, but the effect is unbeivable great! as you could be there. i feel like those two separated trees sourranded by others...it is like a nightmare on the photo! just perfect result :o) and pp work works here excelent, b&w gives here that tchrilling mood and that white background is like silent scream, so noisy, makes that you cannot find calm in here at all! great :o)

so many good words, but it is a very good photo!

Hou wel van die harde contrasten Erik.
Het lijnenspel komt nu heel goed uit !
Letterlijk en figuurlijk komt het als een steriel bevroren landschap over.

Alleen het bos zelf, om aan te tonen dat het aangepland is, is volgens mij verkeerd gekozen. Er zijn betere voorbeelden waar je effectief voor de 1e boom gaat staan
en de achterliggende niet meer ziet.
Ik denk langsheen de autostrade Antwerpen - Hasselt. Moet je maar eens over-en-weer bollen ... ;-))
Kan ook elders zijn. Ne mens wordt ouder hé

Interesting effect your contrast effect added to this photo, Very Moody indeed! I myself get a lonely feeling from it but I see others have seen something different. I like the black and white. Neat idea. TFS

Soooo creepy. Love it.

I don't really know what else to say about it.

I almost get the feeling like we are spying on spruce trees doing something cult-like and sinister.

Like the two trees in the middle are doing something devilish, and the rest have crowded around to watch, while we cower behind a tree and watch in horror.

Thats what I get out of this image...

superbe photo et tres bonne idee de controler la perspective en photographiant en pente vers le bas (dumoins c'est l'impression que j'ai...?)
J'aime beaucoup les contrastes accentues et l'atmosphere que cela donne!! Bravo. Je souhaiterai peut etre un peu plus sombre pour l'essemble mais c'est mineur.

Hi Eric! A bit overexposed but I like the contrast that you made here as it looks like a pen and ink art. Lovely patterns and details. I like how you framed it with the trunks giving texture and more detail to the whole image.
