Today we go to : Belgium ^__^ .. the City of Kortrijk again. Behind the Church/Cathedral are some small aleys with little houses in connection
to this Church .
This is in my (Dutch) language ''Een Hofje ''
The translation book tells me 3 words to choose from: Court/Courtyard/Almshouse ..

Its a shelterd place for older people. In this case it was used for retired Nuns (Sisters) but..
since the source for Nuns is a little dried up and not enough Nuns anymore.. it is rented now to who ever will fit the requirements .
Again: coming to Europe this year on a vacation?
Put Belgium and Holland on the list.
Thanks Folks (^__^)
John Tulip

Hi John

Superb sharpness & good use of diminishing linear perspective & vanishing point. Good color, contrast, & lighting. Tfs!

Hi John Tulopoulos (this is the right spelling of your greek surname... lol...),

What a lovely photo!
The alley looks so nice with the tree in the background and the white houses with the roof! It seems so narrow,b ut full of tradition. Well done, my friend!

Good morning John,
Very nice POV with a great perspective leading us to that door. Very nice colors and sharpness. Well done.
Have a great day.

What a cozy nice old place, John:)
The decentered composition is perfect.
Nice textures... the tiling, the pavement and the brick walls ..!
Great colours! That ochre and green are go very well together!
thank you for posting this and have a wonderful day, Karina:)

Hi John. This view is nice. The leading lines of the road and building take my eye inward to explore the photo. Nice work!

Hi John!
Very simple and nice picture!! The crop are perfect. like your photo!! Just one thing not perfect are the text in frame. John A 2006 are too big and the top text flying, sorry john.

The composition is very effective here. This lane which take us to the gantry is well inviting. Beautiful contrasts and textures. I like much these ochre slate roofs. These houses have a great character! Cheer! Annie

Hello Oom John, please make a booking for one decrepit Aussie when you make yours, looks like the kind of place where we could escape from the noisy ones.
Wonderfully captured once again and so very well displayed with the mini upright. Excellent lines and textures and the colours are perfect. TFS
David
PS Many thanks for your kind comments and email regarding Bug Eyed

The crop enhances the narrowness of the alley. Nice atmosphere and architecture.

'Diepgang' in Belgie; het kan dus ;)
Mooie steeg voor een snelle plas.
Mooi John.
Groet
Huub

He John,

Hendrik

Just perfect, and a very artistic view, John. Love that blue door. (it's what we call "dutch blue," coincidentally.)

Gayle :)

Hi John, I can of course think of plenty ways how my models will enhance your picture... har har har har! But we dont want to dish out heart attacks...

The perspective of your pic is great... I like all the brick and paint lines leading to the door. I think you have done well! My girls would only be a distraction :)

Hello Bro, this is very well composed and taken. This enclosed alley is very european and lovely.

Great skill here in sharpness, composition, and perspective :)

Take care! Sis :)

Het begijnhof werelderfgoed heel mooi!

John I like this shot alot, the pretty little houses seem very cozy and tight knit, very nice DOV. The trees in the back hold the houses in attention, and we focus on them. I wish I got to travel as much as you do. :)

Keep posting so I can travel with you. ;)

Biance.

Prachtig John ,hier moet ik meteen denken aan "Kapitein Zeppos".een vlaamse jeugdserie uit de jaren 60 waar ik gek op was,dit lijkt sterk op zijn huis.
