The recent chapel-posting of Maleentjeh reminded me of this picture I took a few weeks ago with its tiny chapel on a tree.
The view of this farmhouse must have been nearly the same for at least the last hundred years. This type of house has the cow-house or shy next to the humble living quarters. The devoted villagers often hung these shrines dedicated to Our-Holy-Lady in front of the house to seek protection against misfortune.
At a certain point in the post-processing, I decided to give the picture an "old-postcard-look". (I can't describe all the steps I took for they were so many ;-) ) Old postcards in this flemish (dutch-spoken)region were often bi-lingual, because french was the dominant language amongst the "educated" people (the ones that could afford to travel and send postcards) until far in the twentieth century.
(I added the original picture in WS for comparison) |

you did a cracking job Walter, thanx, I like both images, jeugdherinneringen, M, (*_*)

PS ik heb tientallen foto's van die nisjes in de boerderijen met Mariabeeldjes - ik vind het altijd zo speciaal
Very good PP work as it really does look like an old postcard. Well done.

Spotless PP work as usual, Walter... mission accomplished. It really looks as an early-1900's postcard.
So, you moved your "hunting ground" to my back-yard, did you ? ;o))
I just wonder: why so small ?
Too bad your signature didn't fit in with the retro look...

Ciao Walter, uno scatto veramente dal sapore antico.
Bravo.
I love the "postcard" version very much. The farmhouse doesn't have nearly the charm in the original that it does in the postcard version. Very nice work, well done.
