Every year in the city Waregem : 'Waregem Koerse'.
Horse racing. A special event for the people. They call the people of Waregem often 'peasants'.
Their great footballteam 'Essevee Waregem' is also known as 'the peasants'.
Waregem used to be a place where poor peasants were working on a bad sandy ground. Things changed when a railway and later on an important highway crossed the area.
Waregem became an industrial site. Relevant also in culture and sport.
So every year 'the poor peasants' celebrate Waregem Koerse.
Picture is taken on an experimental basis using a longer shutter speed to become the illusion of 'speed'.
Keep in my mind that I'm just a poor peasant:-). |

Hoi Annick,
Een goed experiment. Vooral de beweging in het paard is erg mooi. Ik vind de rijder iets minder. Je panning actie is goed. Jammer dat je een experiment met sluitersnelheid doet en niet de sluitersnelheid vermeld.
Groeten,
Niek

De "speed" zit er helemaal in. Mooi
The perfect panning made the horse clear/sharp but the fast moving parts (horse's leg and Jockey (moved by vibrations) blur.
Great experience mister the peasant. ;o)
Cheers!
Ben.
Scherp paard en de rest is in beweging.
Mooi,
Geert

excellent feeling of motion! the blur background improve very well this effect and the overall visual impact. tfs.
p.s. i'm surprised, shocked about your points on this site! amazing shots, vision, technics, composition and individualism and a few points. it's not about this shot, but about all of them! it's something wrong...
