The idea is not bad...but I'm not sure that the fact that it is out of focus is a good thing. I'd give it another try if I were you. Regards. Dany :-)

Indeed, the idea is good as prevoius critiques say. Her is an idea, in case you wish to give this another attempt. Put the focus on the neckless and use a shalow dof to have the bossom more out of focus. I belive this shot is more about the neckless then the woman. Also, by obsucring the woman by using a short DoF you will "mystify" her. In a way, bu doing this you will actually put more focus on the woman as the viewer will use their imagination more. Perhaps use a white top or a blouse to add innosence to the picture. Or, you can go with black to enahnce the contrast between teh skin and the top. That would give it a more daring feeling. The way teh hari flows is just great. It frames teh neckless beautifully.

Hi, it's a good idea but as it's entitled "the Neckless" that, especially the pendant should be pin sharp, and the cleavage softly blurring in the background to add a touch of class. It has the potential to be a very sexy image, but I would also get the hair out of the way, simple is the key.

If as I suspect this is a self portrait, and your thinking how am i going to get this sharp, then what I would suggest is to measure the length from camera lens to pendant with arm at full stretch, then focus manually on something the same distance and lock it at that!

Ili,
The overall effect of the image is excellent. Softly sensual. A good, bold and lovely experiment.
However sharpness is an issue here. I think the focus should on the necklace (difficult, if it is a self-portrait), but not impossible as Dean has suggested.
I have always liked your 'body parts' studies. Would definitely welcome more of these.
