I love this, Per, especially your treatment of the people with the little black bars. That alone deserves quite a bit of *.
Very funny observation !

Nice that you have kept the people anonymous Per. Great humorous capture. Well done.

Well seen Per!! And you even took the trouble to "hide" everyone's identities ;-) It's a great shot, full of opportunity and that definitely makes us wonder about that terrible addiction... Easy to get hooked and hard to be free!
Well done.

Hi Per,
This is very recognizable. And when you have to go inside that building you first has to go to a dense cloud of cigarette smoke.
I’m glad you categorized the picture as daily life and not humour, for it’s no fun to walk through the smoke.

Hi Per, oh, I love this one and wish I would see this a lot more often in Germany. Here even in restaurants smoking is still allowed. Come on big EU -> Strike on us in this case too. Please, pretty please :) You already see that I was a smoker for about 30secs in my life. My father took me and my brother when we were 6 and 8 years old and said: "Come on boys, you are old enough to smoke, gave us each a cigarette and we both more or less threw up and were healed for the rest of our lives. Thank you Dad! " I like how you created the effect that they are doing something really illegal with the black bars over the eyes ;-) Well seen. Yours, Jan

It took a long time for medical science to finally admit smoking was bad for us...and still it is done...Interesting concept and must be quite an addiction. Don't you love the resturants that ask you when you are being seated.."smoking or non-smoking"??? Like it is going to really make a difference?? Great catch, Per of a common scene...amazingly at HOSPITALS!!! ....:O)

Nicely shown and a well offered message. Hide the faces is strong and looks to me the best creative part in this good composition.
I like it.

Too true, when I worked for Nokia the management were so sick of 'us smokers' meeting at the front of the building that they erected a smokers tent in the car park so we were away from the public eye.
I am now only a fairweather smoker and literally only succumb in the summer months. Have done this for years. I literally don't touch them all year and then start pining June time, start in July then stop again in Sept. Every year - it's very weird.
A great capture, love the blacked out eyes.

;o). Nice journalist shot, Per. I think it is a good thing that many offices forbid smoking inside. My employer has provided a "gas chamber", as us non-smokers commonly call it... scenes like this are forbidden as well. The black bars are a nice touch, as though you went undercover or something. And the non smoking sign is hilarious indeed. TFS.

Belle créativité dans cette composition très réussie. J'aime bien la teinte du verre et les multiples réflexions. Bien vu Per!

Very nice everyday life capture!
I saw the thumbnailed version, didn't read the title yet and immediately thought of the office around the corner ;)

Per, this is just too funny. Not only at buildings but now we see the crowds at bars. Yes... there is no longer smoking allowed at restaurants, cafes, and night bars. So patrons are now forced to go outside. This has created another problem... there are cigarrette butts everywhere now.
An excellent journalistic photograph with their anonymous faces...!!! Thanks my friend.

Dear Per,
Humoristic shot or sad Reality. there is a thin line between
the two options.
It is quite true even in Canada. Now imagine the same shot in winter time , when it is - 35 Degrees. Well they are still there!
Sad effect to this habit, now when you enter a building, you really feel like your are entering in a giant ashtray.....
PS I never smoked. But my loving wife did from the age of 12 til five years ago. No I won't tell her age. But I will tell you mine ! I am 47. I never pressed her , But I was the happiest man, when she finally decided on her own to stop.
PS. FYI A pack of 25 Cigarettes here is now abt $8.00 Cdn or nearly $7.00 US.
How much is it over there , if I may ask.
Cheers!
TFS

Funny picture! This is actually close to where I work, I have noticed and outside of every building there are now the troops of smokers flocking together. Very poignant!
