[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
After my previous posting of the House Sparrow, I continued my walk with the trusty 80-400mm VR Nikkor.
It's one of those lenses you really want to have, but once you have it you'll probably use it too little. It works best with intense light, since otherwise the focus will go 'hunting'. And good harsh light it was that day!

I especially liked this photograph since from a distance, the cat was a mere silouette with the backlight of the sun. But despite that, you can still very well distinguish the features of the cat in the shaded parts. Also nice to see the glow of the sun reflecting on the borders of her silouette.
The grass around is slowly de-frosting. A little icing of the cold night still around the place where the cat is sitting. Hope you like it!!

They appear suddenly, like shadow demons... from nowhere. When you expect them least... the cats... The most spontaneous and dangerous beasts in the world!!!
Meowutiful shot in contrast light!

Hi Dennis,

great light managing, in the thumbnail, watching the cat's silhouette I was convinced it was taken by its back, the green is perfect to emphasize its dark color.

Well done!

Gio

Gorgeous light here! lovely blured fackground and foreground! Good job!

Hallo Dennis,
Kortom: knap gedaan!
TFS & groeten,
Erik

Hello Dennis

nice backlight for this cat. I must admit I don't like cats but this shot is very well composed with good light :)

Hoi Dennis,
Zelf geen kattenfreak, maar dit is een mooie foto: goede focus op het model, mooie vage achtergrond , mooi gebruik van licht en kleuren. Doeltreffend frame.
Mooi!
Groet,
Ruut

yeah, terrific shot, well composed with the dark silhouetted cat sitting in a wonderful backlight between the glowing green grass,
on which some waterdrops of the de-frosting are visible and reflecting the great sunlight. well done & best wishes, thor.

Hoi Dennis,

I like this Dennis even if the cat is a bit UE, the backlight makes a very nice halo around it. Well done,

Mario

You've caught my favourite time of the day here, when it's light outside, but the coldness of the night is still stuck to the lower ground... at a cat's level. ;)

Wonderful image, this is brilliantly taken. I see you extended the lens to it's maximum distance... isn't it fun, whenever I push my lens to 200mm, I feel like a pirate using his spy-glass to scope out other boats. ;P

And this really is well taken, images with animals always make people smile - and if it doesn't make people smile... well then, there's something wrong with them! DOF is perfect, and the details are well maintained, so a truly good image here. :) TFS!!

Biance.

(Composition/frame is good as well.)

Hello sweetty, you are fantastic model.
Have a nice dya.
greetings from my dog Placek
bye Aga

You have very good shots of animals. And this is one of them. I like your aperture choise and excelent DOF as result. The grass is look like at carpet.

Beautiful Portrait for this little jaguar.. Very well composed. The light are stunning... Bravo..

This is a fantastic photo Dennis! Brilliant exposure, (although some more features of the cat would have been nice), love the lighting and the focus.

What can I say, well done!
