...no, I'm not talking about the quality of the lens, but of the quality of the glass in that building. Or lack of quality...

I was standing on the platform in Berchem station and shot the trains' reflection in the windows of the building on the other side of the street. Amazing how deformed everything gets, even in one window, the cables on top for instance... Weird.

This is one of those images that I like, but which made me hesitate to post it.

Tech talk

Straightened and cropped with some perspective correction.

Levels, shadows & highlights.

Downsized as per usual, in a couple of steps with subtle sharpening at the end.

Added a small frame.

Hi Frank,
Perhaps, the quality of the glass is lacking but this photo is a succes! I like these broken lines and soft colors. The yellow touch is right what it is necessary to light the image. I appreciate to see the couple in the left part. It is a little surrealist and very pleasant to look at. Bravo! Annie

Hi Frank :)

Wow ! Excellent shot !

Well done, Merci de partager.

Bonne année 2008

Josée

Don't worry... I catch immediatly what you mean even from the thumbnail :) It's real mirror those glasses! I enjoy your way of presentation! In the center we guess a shadow of a pair of legs. Yours or somebody inside.... You are too away... It's probably somebody inside :)
I enjoy the industrial aspect!

Grappig zicht.

Well seen and well captured. Good composition. Why did you downsize in a couple of steps?
Please explain the advantages of that technique as I am jsut learning. TFs. K2

Hallo Frank,
Prachtig in beeld gebrachte mozaïek. Compositie, kleuren, "scherpte": alles klopt.
TFS & groeten!
Erik

Hi Frank,
yes, good glass-quality - and good shot-quality also ;-)
I love the reflections - looks so modern and creative. Thanks and greetings

Excellent Frank, just enough PP work, good colour and light and well presented. TFS,

great reflection, i love its space into stages

i guess the canon lens is a real quality glass.*g*
the distorted reflections in the windows are awesome, just what i like, so many nice details, although i had the spontaneous idea
of a tighter crop with, let´s say, only the train. anyway, well seen & captured, and good idea to show it to us.
take care & best wishes from cologne, thor.

Hello Frank,
Like it. I've few such city reflections from Chicago, and hesitate to post them.
Its interesting to see the shapes of the reflections. TFS

Hello Frank,

Your idea of composing this image is really brilliant. There are many things which can be noticed in the reflection, thus, dynamic perspective is interesting. An excellent shot my friend. Well done.

Thanks for sharing this image.

Hi Frank,
Wat een cadeau dat vertekende glas
Een natuurlijke collage
Hartstikke mooi

Ha Frank,

Twijfelen lijkt me hier totaal onnodig.

Hi Frank,
Yeah, I like this image, I love reflections so well captured Frank, crisp clear colours superb sharp and well composed. Particular the reflection of the couple in the left center windowpane is superb. An attractive photo in my opinion.

Hello Frank.
Broken windows... empthy houses... That song came up in my mind.
Great achitectional picture. Perfect result.
Maybe even stronger without the 3 leftside parts ?
Sure it is very different.
Groeten van Jan

What else than give you
The Silver Tulip Award
for this excellent reflection master piece!

Good one Frank - and what a busy scene these windows have captured. I like it too. And the waves in the glass are quite interesting too - that used to be a sign of bad glass on the 'olden days'!!!
I love the patterns and colours, and the business,
Well done MF

I am very glad you decided to post this because there is so much going on that it really holds one's attention. Funny thing: usually when there's so much going on, I complain of having no focal point, but in fact this one DOES have a focal point: the couple surround by all the modern chaos -- great stuff, Frank!

Superb colours and details

Hallo Frank,

Groeten,
Lars
