I initially posted this photo in a "straight" version on TrekEarth and called it Alice and the Mirrors as a reference to Alice in Wonderland and her experiences with mirrors. But I wanted to try it out for this new series and I quite liked the gaussian noise effect. The criteria for this series are that the photo must contain at least one person, show a piece of urban scenery, and that 12% gaussian noise shall be applied after all other postprocessing.
The photo was taken in Brussels on a busy day when all of a sudden I turned a corner and the only other person in front of all those "mirrors" was "Alice".

Technically I clarified, saturated the colours and worked on the colour balance (it was too blue - maybe still is) before cropping. After that I resized, removed digital noise with a filter, and added the gaussian noise as prescribed.

Hello Per,
I like this very much. Great job with capturing this person walking towards the wall of mirrors(levels within levels) and with nobody else in this photo it's pretty priceless from my pov. I like the Alice in Wonderland refernce and it suits this shot. I like how the light hitting the building right before the individual is kind of inviting and could just swallow her up. It's also great how you captured her right before her next step-nice sense of her movement. At first I was not to sure about the flag in the shot, but as I studied the photo I do like how the flag intervenes and breaks up the symmetry in this comp. Great work.

This one looks great too, though I must confess that I prefer the one from yesterday ;-) I think this one is a little more mysterious, but the other had more action... Anyway, this series of yours is definitely interesting and I'll be here waiting for more ;-)
Well done Per!

Perfect urban landscape Per, your pp work as usual is exceptional. Don't think this could be bettered, your positioning of the single figure is a masterstroke. Really gritty shot. Well done.

Peter

Interesting series, Per. I really like this composition. You had a good eye to catch this so well....:O)

I like the overall blue and brown tones here, Per... And the mirror reflection of the building behind you too. I think this is a very promising series you're going to make. TFS.

I am really liking your new series. Make a Theme for us, then we can all try from own cities, towns, and villages. It would be fun, and it certainly would motivate me to get out more now the snow has melted. I love this one, and as you wanted, a single person. This one is great with all the glass windows. Must be quite hard to find scenes with only one person in them. Well done. Can't wait to see the next one.

Hi Per,
It looks like a poster. Very well done this little grainy structure. Brings a special atmosphere to the picture.
groet Rob

Hi Per !
Nice composition with all these windows like mirrors.
Thanks for mentioning me in your theme "Figures in urban landscapes", I am very flattered :)
About mirrors and Alice, you may have a look or maybe already noticed one of my posts titled "Through the Looking Glass" inspired by the book from Lewis Carroll ...
Congrats for these urban landscapes, once more our daily environment is such a source of inspiration ...

Yo did a painting from a photo... very nice work.
The inclusion of a woman adds a lot of tension in this almost geometric shot, so powerful are the lines here.
Very good note, also.
Cheers... and thank you!
