I have seen quite a number of marvellous shots of that day of days. I remember with great fondness a similar day in a small area of Ontario -- before I had a digital camera. I was living in a basement apartment that year (10 years ago) and saw the white from my little window. I ran outside in my pyjamas and slippers to take pictures, running from tree to tree to get macro views of the beauty.
As to your image: the clarity is wonderful and I like the backdrop of the heavy leaden sky that really sets off the image.

Hoi Frank,
Een van de mooiste winterfoto's van 2007/2008! Echter super belichting, de blauw-grijze lucht geft een heerlijke winterstemming. Prachtige compositie, je hebt mazzel met zo'n mooi landschap met sneeuw.

Inderdaad Jan,

dit was een superdag voor fotografen. Spijtig genoeg moest ik werken en kon maar tegen zonsondergang enkele foto's nemen, die zijn natuurlijk niet zo helder.
Deze is een prachtstuk !

Yes, I thought it must have been 22 Dec 2007. I think most of Europe (well in your area) had a wonderful hoar frost that day.
How wonderful it must have been to get out and photograph it.
Beautiful image Frank, and it is so good to be able to compare it with your autumn coloured image.

We got around 45cm of the snow ... something I myself have never seen ... my Mini was completely enveloped by the snow. Beautiful, but extremely irritating all that snow.

But this is VERY pretty ... I never got the chance to shoot any images of the snow over here ... I sorely wish I had. The building though white is easy to distinguish ... don't know if any thanks should be given to you there ... :)
