...hmm... I'm not sure about the title but google-wise this is what came out.
This is a little grease-plant that "grows" on rocks and needs no attention at all... the poor but strong thing :-)

It's the original picture, rezised and used unsharp mask to regain the little details on the three leafs that where on focus.(little white hook)
Than I added the border.
Used the large diafragma to (try to) bring out the front leafs and to create some more depth. This plant photographed here is just 4cm tall and the original size of this image is approx. 2cm max.
Used my porch again for neutral light.

Thanks for looking and your comments.

Steven.

Hi Steven

Awesome macro composition. I think this looks much like a member of the Sedum family of plants. A great rockery garden plant.

Your DOF may be just a tad too limited as I would have liked a few more of the tips to be in focus but its not too bad. The colours and contrast are both really good.

Well done and TFS.

Hello Steven,
A superb macro! I think that your subject is well chosen and your technique, faultless. Excellent lighting and spot-on exposure.
Well done!
Best wishes
Bill

Nice abstract shot - the leaves of the plant create a nice organic pattern which combined with the dark colour in the foreground focus and light colours into the picture draws the eye into the picture really well.
Thanks for sharing
Mark

Hi Steven

Nicely composed and I think the shallow DOF is excellent. The tight framing looks great
