THE ORIGINAL IDEA!!!

We were in Belgium, this August 2008, for a family feast.
The weather was lovely, everybody was happy, the food and drink yummy!
It had been decided on 'informal' dress code, however, I suddenly had this vision for a family portrait' OLD STYLE', serious as used to be!
Well it's not every day that we are all together, so they all thought it was a great idea.
Looked for a 'substitute' studio, set up the camera and tripod, seated everybody...
Now to keep serious? LOL, not easy... one WAS smiling...
So quite a few were taken using the self timer.
Once we felt we had the ONE, we went for the fun ones, everybody ran to see the results on the back (see workshop). More laughter and so much FUN!
It's moments like these that make life sweet.

I added some grain and put in a sepia tone.
Hope you enjoy this mini-set.
All the best, M, (*_*)

It must have been hard to get all those faces this serious -- very old style indeed - from a time when exposures were much longer than they need to be now

The toning and monochrome with added grain enhance the feeling of an old fashioned portrait. Brilliantly art directed.

Hi Magda

A much more serious looking family portrait. Perhaps I'd add a slight yellow red sepia tone, to give it that 'aged' look? Good sharpness & tonal range. Tfs!

Hello Magda!
I love your work with this little theme of your family photos.
I really like comparing this one with the Naughty family portrait. Excellent idea.
Now as for the old style photo, is very well presented. The set up is great.
