[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The day after, we went to Antwerpen to visit my best friend living there with his family.
We went to the harbour by bike. We stopped at a very beautiful café called "Het Pomphuis" near the water.
"Het Pomphuis" is a café restaurant in Antwerp’s harbour area, it is a converted harbourfront hydraulic facility, with a lot of the original machinery in place.
As soon as you enter the building, you’ll be impressed by the details of the industrial and art nouveau combo. The Pompzaal, seven meters below the ground floor, is for receptions and exhibitions.

The weather was nice and then we sat on the beautiful terrace and watched aquatic traffic jams.

This shot reminds me of the beautiful movie from Aki Kaurismaki (Finland) "Drifting clouds".

This is nice done, Sylvie, a beautiful construction, original and with a lot of "space", I like it very well !

from the thumbnail it looked like the clouds are in the building :)
i like how the 2 elements merge with each other...beautiful, almost dream like image

Trés bien vu Sylvie. Toutefois, j'aurais essayé de laisser en dehors du cadre les reflets des arbres et de la cheminée tout en gardant le fenêtre ronde... pas facile je suppose :-).

A beautiful 'double-vision' Sylvie. From the thumbnail it looked like a construction built on clouds, somewhat Dali-like. I was never in this restaurant myself but passed often. Well, it takes a certain angle to spot this...
(my posting of today is only a few kilometers south, but on the same day, so we just missed eachother ;-) )
The link you provided is good information. What it doesn't mention is what the city has in store for the near future. They planned a bridge to make a connection between the north- and southwest-leading highways to shorten the 'detour' around Antwerp. This bridge will pass only a few meters above the roof of the 'pomphuis'.

Très bien vu, cette réflection de nuages superposée sur l'intérieur du restaurant. Belle richesse de couleurs. J'aurais eu tendance à couper les reflets d'arbres vers le bas; je les trouve un peu distrayants. Mais, ça ne défait pas trop l'ensemble, qui semble sortir d'un rêve... Excellent!

We got the solution here! Closing the sky with his clouds inside... And lets evacuate polluants out of it :o)

It's give reaaly the impression there is clouds insite the glassees roof! Very cool effect!

bonsoir Sylve. Il y a quelques De Loof qui sont passés par cet endroit pour aller au nouveau monde, le quai7 et un autre qui a fait le voyage du nord vers le sud, nous sommes une grande famille de voyageurs et d'immigrés.
C'est très beau comme image ... est-ce un peu art nouveau.

en retard je suis, mais j'avais vu ce nuage ... passer... intrigué ! un nuage accroché dans une galerie comme un squelette de la préhistoire ! j'ai compris pour le reflet après, parfois on est un peu lent :-)
cette photo nous emmène loin dans les rêves.

Very creative use of overlain multiple images which gives the image a 3 dimensional effevt. Good colour, sharpness, & exposure levels. Well done!

An impressive shot, this mix of hall and clouds, it seems the lights are hanging directly on clouds. Well framed, perfect exposure, bravo!

THis one is very beautiful! I don't know how I had miss it... Maybe I was without the computer at the time. Anyway, it doesn't matter. I just wanted to tell you that in my silly opinion this is one of the most beautiful photos you've uploaded here. The reflections are so fantastic that one could be here for hours looking at them. Amazing shot. So dreamy and there's just a lot going on here. The clouds, shadows of the interior, everything works nicely. Reminds me of a surrealism painting in a way. Well done.
