The 3000 character limit would not suffice if I started to explain why I made this.

These characters are taken from the International Alphabet for Hard of Hearing People. I got it off the internet so I hope we did not make any errors. Phillip actually knew the first 10 characters of this alphabet by heart already.

Taken pictures of Phillip's hand while he spelled the word.

Created this in a photoshop elements new document and arranged them, gradient layer, dry cut filter, resized, framed, saved and posted.

maby he can learne matimatics on that manuel book to?
Little joke.
Amasing thing those signs.
I think we all have to know them.
Expressive mind, on a exploring issue.
T
!

One day I want to learn this...
You are overflowing with ideas Marleen, there is no lack of phantasy with you!

I like it very much, because the opposite, disrespect, is also symbolised with a hand sign, (and used more often than the ones you put up so nicely for us, I am afraid)... One raised finger!

May all people think of your post when they get mad next time... ;)

Hi Marleen, this is a clever and elegant way to put a very important message: one needs to give respect!!
The lack of it, IMHO is teh cause of such bad things around
Well done!! As for the work, REALLY good. Like the colours, the way you framed it.

Just great!

All the best, Stef

Hi Marleen,
I've met a great gal who is deaf. She was teaching me this alphabet. I think that this way of communication can learn everybody patience and responsibility for their words. Because when you talk to somebody deaf, you have to speak only the most important things. It's an extremely time-consuming way of communication (especially in the beginning) so it would be unwise - talking nonsenses that way.

Your photo touches a very important subject so this is the first thing that makes it special. The second thing - realisation. Eyecatching colours, original form.

I'm pleased that you started to be interested in the International Alphabet for Hard of Hearing People because people know less about it than needed.

Thanks for posting.
Take care,
Anna

This is something completely different and also very original, I mean the PP you used here, the hands of course, are common for these kind of people.....
Nice clear, nice picture, I also like the long frame, nice done, Marleen !

This a fantastic idea, and i love how you presented it :))
And most of it, a fantastic message of making a step to others, all about communication between all of us!

Geweldig Marleen...hiermee dwing je respect af.
Maar respect is iets wat moet hebben voor een ieder ;-)
Mooie compositie...behalve de roze kleur vindt ik iets minder maar dat is perssonlijk.

Jos

Hi Marleen.
Woaw that's very estetic. Very well placed together. The PP on each hand makes it very smooth and the colors are well chosen.
Bravo.
Denis.

Hi Marleen, my respect to you! I lost my left ear hearing since I was 12, I still haven't learn much about sign language... that's because I am a bit slacking. :P but it is very creative and good idea of yours... Thank you very much...

Excellent idea! I enjoy the theme and it's well realised! The color is nice Peacefull..
I'm shure Aretha Franklin would like the idea too... Remember how she spell the letters in her most popular hit!

Le message est passé! Bien vu !

Bonne idée, pien pensé.
Bien fait.

Very nice idea. Great job Phillipe.

Very nicely done. Your PP is simple, yet very effective. Might be a case where the title should be on the frame as well; would make a great poster this way. Excellent work, Marleen!

You never seize to amaze me: your wonderful imagination is at work again. I only wish I could think up these kinds of pictures. Just wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

Excellent, original idea Marleen, nicely brought to life.

Groetjes Brigitte

Great composition Marleen. I like the pp you did with this photo. Very well done.

Hi Marleen !
Excellent concept and composition !
All the best,
Rui

Great message, great idea, great image.
I work at a school for hearing impaired children and thought of doing a similar image, however Auslan uses both hands to finger spell so did quite get the right effect.

However seeing your image i am inspired to keep trying.
Thanks Tracey

I like the PP on this one. It would make excellent stock photography for the right article or publication.

no words needed! This is beauty 'says'it ALL! A very creative image done with great style and artisticity. RESPECT(lost on many people, they don't know the meaning of the word!) to you too, thanx, M, (*_*)
