L. de B.

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
"L. de B." That's what was embroided on his shirt. It stands for "Laurent de Belgique", and that's who it is, HRH. Prince Laurent.
He paid a visit to our city about a month ago when he was showed around on some social projects to put people with poor education levels back to work.
After more than an hour cycling (!) from one site to another, the whole entourage stopped by one of the most popular pubs ("den Engel"), right next to city hall. And for the first time he seemed to relax for a moment and could spare a few jokes and smiles, a rather rare sight. While others enjoyed the local beer (bolleke Coninck, as seen on the right) he just sipped a cool Coke.
Isn't it remarkable how close you can get to royalty in Belgium ?
Making frequent reports for Indymedia gives me the opportunity to be informed of such occasions and get pictures first hand.
