Your attempt at conveying the the mood of Autumn in B&W is certainly successful. The misty weather also helps. I only wished the left part of the composition were a bit less crowded...

This is a really moody and effective image of autumn; great use of the mist and the b&w presentation. Great composition with lots of space between the narrow trees. The light through the mist establishes a distinct atmosphere. Excellent.

Nice shot with very strong late-autumn mood! Your solution with black and white gives possibility to see autumn by other eyes! This is really interesting - to see autumn soul like a calm misty transition to the cold winter.

First I must say you reach to cach a autumn without the usual colours tones...that surprise me. There is a mystery in this long goodbye to summer and the wellcome to the winter, there is a special feeling...
For meis very well conceived and worked.
Autumn is the "fall". It smells Autumn

I would have loved to see the color version, no doubt wild with looking and very colorful.
The monochrome shows off well the drabness of fall once the trees are empty and the fog makes it somewhat mysterious.

Hello Erik, on viewing the thumbnail I wondered why you had decided to post an autumn shot in b/w,but on opening up the shot, I can understand perfectly why you chose to do it.
A very moody picture with the mist and the fallen leaves evoking autumn just as you wished.
A good composition imo.

Hi Erik, fantastic shot..the varying tonal differenceprovides such wonderful sense of depth. interesting title too..finally, somebody has a different approach to autumn :D

i'm not very sure of the elevated land (or is ti?) in the center of the frame. or if you could've used it differently. nevertheless amazing shot. tfs, take care

Yep ! Kan je volgen in " soul "
Mooie sfeer !

'k Weet niet of het waar is maar zou willen zeggen
" eindelijk eens de herfst in B/W " :-)
Indien je dit zou afprinten : hou je zwarten en witten in de snuiter ?
Denk dat het anders vlug " grijs " gaat worden : op een scherm ziet er alles
direct " frisser " uit. Gewoon maar een gedacht.

Waarom zo'n " doodskader " ? :-)

Ik vind de WS geen verbetering.
