[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [Dutch]
This 'architectural experiment' stands near the river Schelde, in the heart of Antwerpen. In the front part, you can see the slope of the entrance to the "Steen", a medieval castle. To the left and the right are more or less modern buildings (read : fairly new), that try to uphold a somewhat classical style. Architect and builder of this building didn't bother about that. I think it is an attractive building, but it does not belong in this environment.

The circles on the building appeared after the resizing of the picture. Does anyone have an idea on how this can be avoided ?

Very nice picture on a bright and sunny day. I really like the statue on the bottom right, taking a pose and looking down on people. About the circles on the building I think it has to do with the kind of resizing you picked. Did you take a very large picture and make it really small? Did you change the pixelisation quality a lot? You could ask Zandra I think she posted something regarding resizing and doing it in more than one step.

I agreed. The architecs or city planners didn't have a good taste mixing the different types of styles.
I never face this problem with the resizing. Do you try to save the picture first in uncompressed TIFF format and resize it and later save it again in JPG? Maybe it could work.

Oh boy, a bizarre and dark building in the wrong place, what a mess they made. For resizing, Zandra told me how to do it in many steps. I will look for it in one of the early comment i received from her. Or may be Quark has the answer ???? At least i understand "grappige foto" = funny photo. :-)

great capture off bad taste Franck, like the contrst between the buildings here..about the circels on the building, maybe trie usm before resizing..If you don't succeed you can send me the original and I will try to find out !!

I agree with you Frank: these modern buildings doesn't belongs to a very classical enviroment. Anyway, very nice photo with great lighting!

Je suis absolument d'accord avec vous. Comment peut-on autoriser une telle construction dans un lieu aussi remarquable.
Photo utile.
Félicitations.

Wow, where are the people who issue permits that allow this kind of building? Good political statement, Frank! Well seen, and I'm still laughing at your thumbnail and workshop, you are so hilarious!

Bonjour Frank !

An old post that is today on your intro page (*_*).

A sad example indeed of a bad location . Perhaps using at least a similar color than the surrounding buidlings would have made it a bit less offensive. The construction itself is not horrible, but it is certainly not the ideal spot to build it.

But beside that , I just note the castle is most likely the Nautical museum , I visited a few years back. If I am not mistaking, we see a portion of an anchor in the front lawn (^_^) . Sweet memories .....

TFS.
