The bridge of Mostar in Bosnia was Edifié in 1566, on the Neretva
river. It was one of many four centuries architectural testimonys of
Othoman presence in Balkans. The bridge had a 27 meters, 4 meters of width and 30 meters length opening.
Its height was 20 meters compared to the level of the river. Flanked by two towers strengthened, Halebija, on right bank, and Tara, on left bank, the bridge had only one arched arch. It was composed of 456 blocks of calcareous stone. It was destroyed by a bombardment in 1993. A new program of rebuilding was launched thereafter and the new bridge was inaugurated in July 2004.
