The Sebilj in Čaršija

Sebilj is an Arabic word meaning “road”, but in this context it is used to depict an old charity institution, special type of fountain from which a sebilj-keeper took water and gave it to the thirsty people. This is the only object of its kind in Sarajevo, but not in Bosnia.
