KASTAV is little town situated 11 km northwest of Rijeka.Built on a isolated hill 378 m over the sea surface dominates over a wide territory old trails conducing from Triest and Slovenia to the port of Rijeka.
We supose that on this strategically convenient site existed already in the prehistorical time a settlement or castle.
We don't have previous data about Kastav before Kastav did not enter in the feud of the bishops of Pula, but we can presume it's significant role in the times of Croatian government from the 7th to the 11th century.

very good one Carmela,
The trees are standing good leading us to the frontport and through the port, the depth is very nice, the lines are good and you took it out a good angle, very nice photo, good job I like it

good effect Carmela, thanks for making the ruins good to look at...looks like an old painting...

Hi Carmela, I also saw your WS, a very nice one, but your "special touch" in this creation is just the difference, I also like all these branches of the trees as a labyrinth around the church, or what's left...
Great shot and very nice work from you!

Interesting point of vue and I like the composition with all the branches that seem to "invade" the space in the photo. Good work.

Belle photo

Very nice picture Carmela, I like a lot the texture of the branches on the wall of the castle, very well done.
Best regards
Guy

Every one in a while I go back to a member's "early works" to see if I missed something. I always find something I did. Like this. I've tried to make a good shot of this church but failed rather misserably. The atmosphere reminds me of a PC game I used to play, "Return to castle Wolfenstein"....I strayed a bit but no matter...you know what I mean :)
