I chose this picture, but it applies to a variety of your photos I saw. I think you would discover that your pics can become so much better, simply by shooting in different light. I think you have a tendency to shoot between 11 and 16 (in photography it's called the devil's time, I think!), when the sun is high in the sky, and as a result the light is too harsh, creating nasty shadows and removing the texturing effect.

Try shooting in early morning or late afternoon, and you'll be amazed
