The people live only inches apart, but their parabolic antennas and television aerials tell me that with each day, they pay more attention to images from far away, beamed in via satellites and displayed on their screens. This world, of stone houses and winding streets, is monochrome -- a legacy from the past. What a contrast from their supersatured, rainbow world of media and fantasy. -Hugh
