[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Having rained for most of the afternoon it was difficult for photography. Lifting the camera to take in the glorious architectural details at Cesky Krumlov meant battling with the raindrops on the lens.

I'd tried the umbrella but that obliterated much needed light that filtered through into the dark and tight lanes and streets.

But as usually happens, luck made me look up at the rainsoaked facade of a house through a break in the clouds. I'd passed here earlier on in the dry sunlight but the effect wasn't half as dramatic.

As more tourists come to see the spectacle that Cesky Krumlov offers, the inhabitants have spruced up their homes in welcome of a healthy economy. To me that's almost sacrilege...I much prefer the more dilapidated offerings. The rough textures and peeling facades offer a history of better days and an atmosphere more intense than those newly painted and smoothed over.

Note: The city of Cesky Krumlov is lovated in in Southern Bohemia in the state of Budejovicki Kraj, and yet this doesn't appear as an option in the list on TL.

Beautiful deep colors, here, Celina. The peeling surface is nicely contrasted with the smooth panes of glass. You have a very artistic eye!
All the best,
Karen
