The meerkat or suricate Suricata suricatta is a small mammal and a member of the mongoose family. It inhabits all parts of the Kalahari Desert in Botswana and South Africa. A group of meerkats is called a "mob", "gang", or "clan". The clan can grow to be up to 20 meerkats at a time, or more. Meerkats have an average life span of 12-14 years.

Ciao Jíto, že by si byla navštívit pražskou Zoo :-)No musím říct že si ulovila pěknej portrétík. Surikaty jsou moji oblíbenci mají takový funny face.

Hi Jitka,
A very good capture of this meerkat !! Its not easy to catch one, because they are very much moving around.
I like the colors and sharpness. Funny effect on the branches behind the animal; there is a white line around them.
