I think the most important question concerning this photo is "should I have converted to black and white - and why?". But allow me to use it as a literary quiz also: Which fairy tale by which author springs to mind when you see this?
The story behind it is simply that of a walk in the countryside during a few days vacation in Denmark in February. We came upon this amazing tree stump by the side of the road and my wife said, "Doesn't that look like.....?". So we set up the camera (no tripod - luckily there flat boulder nearby) and took the photo.
Post scriptum: I was thinking of The Tinderbox by Hans Christian Andersen, but I guess by the reactions here that only Danes will recognise this as being a copy of a famous illustration of that fairy tale. |

I don't know the fairy tale but this is a very good picture. I like the composition very much. The exposure is very good a well. Thanks for sharing! :D

I haven't a clue about the fairy tale, but I really like the image. The composition/framing is very balanced, and the postured of the characters is so...fairy tale like. Nice job!

I'm not sure about the fairy tale name, but you do sure look like Robin Hood. :) Good job there was a flat rock nearby to act as a tripod. Very nice photo of you and your wife.
I thought of Jack and the Beanstalk, but the tree isn't tall enough.

SnowWhite & the seven dwarfs? You remind me of a dwarf anyhow, Per... what with this large treestump and the way you carry that stick. I know only the Walt Disney version, though, so I haven't a clue about the author... and I'm too lazy to Google it.
