[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A downtown cafe tends a jazz event the first Sunday every month.
I go there to capture photos of jazz musicians. This guy is named Svenne and he is a trumpet and cornet player. A good one indeed. In real life he is named Svend Lundbeck and is an architect – also a good one! There is only one thing wrong with this guy; he doesn’t have a computer or use the Internet. So I have to send my pictures of him by regular snail-mail… what do you know?
The events always start with 4 or 5 musicians, playing their stuff for about an hour. Then after the break they invite other musicians from the audience to join them. This is when the jam session start. This is funny and most spectacular part of the afternoon.
I often join band and give myself away as Frank Sinatra or as a jazz crooner ;-)

Preposting: USM, B/W and slightly cropped.

Lovely shine and details. Sometimes I feel, jazz does not fit to youth. I am really admired by the detail observed through his glasses. Sharpness is very tricky, it exists on his fingers, than dissapears, and then again I can see on his face. Croped and the balance works well.

Great shot, Jorn! This is a good example of how well B&W works with some subjects. I like the DOF, having the face in focus and allowing the rest to fall off. Well done! You really captured the mood and soul here.
