I will start by apologizing. I know this capture is rather macabre, but it shows daily life on a typical farm (I think).

Here’s the background:
I came to visit a friend of mine. When I entered the driveway I saw a dead cow lying on the concrete floor with her neck cut open. A nasty sight! In the grass was lying a dead newborn cattle. The scene looked liked something from a horror movie.

The cow was shoot (by a vet) minutes earlier… she was pregnant, but had very strong stomach pains. Her womb was twisted with, not with one, but two cattle’s in it.

There was nothing to do for the mother, so the farmer and vet decided to save the cattle’s. They shoot the cow and tried a Caesarian section. But with no luck. One cattle went out dead. The other was a freak, already dead in the womb. The vet said that this could be the cause of the twisted womb.

The capture shows the butcher removing her entrails. It’s a bloody job, but he finished it in 45 minutes. I know it’s a macabre capture, but it’s daily life for farmers. So don’t forget it when you buy your beefs at your supermarket.

PP: Crop, USM, Contrats +10 and warmth filter.

A sad story, Jorn, but a true one. Most people will find this a shocking photo, comment about it, and a few hours later they'll comment the meat on their plate.
You captured this scene very well. I wonder what the cow in the background is thinking...

Some may call this graphic and shocking. It is. It's real life. Not always something we want to see, or want to accept, but still a daily part of some people's lives.
Good image and though the subject may be shocking, I appreciate you hving the guts (no pun intended) to display it.

I agree with you Jorn. This photo is so macabre but it's show the daily life!

very nice documental shot.....

Sad story about the cow but like you say, this is reality. Interesting how there's a live cow in the background who seems to be viewing the action. Interesting picture and thanks for the sidenote.

The picture has been taken beautifully with crisp details. Along with an interesting commentary note from a farm house life.

Thanks for sharing all this.
