[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was not such a bad shot to begin with (and I will post the original as workshop), but I like to try out some of my paint scripts even on photos that look presentable to begin with. This is a ready-made script called Airbrush and Ink that comes with PSP9. It sometimes works and sometimes not. In this case I feel it does. I also tried a watercolour script that I like very much and the result wasn't bad at all (so I will use the second workshop of the day for that). These scripts can of course be broken down and analysed and adjusted to individual needs, and it is important to know the components. And they are often standard tools such as hue adjustment, curve adjustment, added blur, added noise, enhanced edges, colour saturation, softening of layers and all the rest. The greatest challenge of all is designing your own scripts - and seeing them work.
But the basis in my experience always has to be a fairly acceptable photo.

Hello Per,

I like what you have done here, I think it gives the picture a sort of mystical effect and leaves some wonderment as to what is around the next corner.
I think if I was made to pick from the three, I would pick the original as the detail is excellent. I wish that the train simulator games had graphic detail as in your picture. Well done

Your nice experiment is successful. I prefer this worshop with the other. Graphics is more defined and the clearer colors are more effective. A good choice for the comprehension of the scene. I like this kind of experiment which brings photography towards another dimension. Well done! Annie

I agree that the original is acceptable, Per... it's even better than that ;o).
I like this version better than the watercolour one. But IMO you should have cloned out the distractive green triangle sign first. The scripts would have covered any possible remaining traces of it, and it wouldn't be this disturbing... as now it is the only bright colour in the picture...
I love the compo with the tracks guiding the eye.

Hi Per,
Nice scenery and great painting effect. But personally I prefer the original one and the 2nd one with watercolor effect.

I like the 2 versions! They are both artistic and creative! Very interersting pp work! Great creativity! Tfs! Michel

I like the original as well. This pp-cessed has a kind of mystique to it. The green triangle sign may be perceived as a disruption of the mood, but then again I'd interpret it more like: the mystery commences behind the sign...:)

Cheers,

Nathalie

Very nice PP work Per. I checked out the other two in the workshops, and the original is fine. Not in favour of the watercolour one though as it's a bit fussy. But, this one here I like the best as the outlines are nicely defined. The green triangular sign adds a nice splash of colour. Excellent composition with the 's' curve of the railway tracks. Nice work.

Hi Per, very well done, and your original is too. My favourite, is the watercolour because of the softness and it looks to me as a master watercolour.

I like the green triangle.

Very well done my friend!

Take care. Yan.

I realy like this shot both the original and what you have done with it... Is quite common to see pictures here of straight bits of track but the movement of this one is like a wave... very lovely.

Yes I agree, what is the old saying "You can't make a purse out of a sows ear."

Nice HPP work. gives a mystery effect... very catching... :)

Hello. Nice effects in this shot. I like both versions. Lovely work. Well done. Be cool. :O)

great effect, love the perspective, great!
christine.
