This is my 100th posting. This one has to be about friendship. TrekLens has opened a window to a new bunch of friends, with whom not only a hobby is shared, but also ideas and passions and worries and thoughts about the world in general. In other words, real friends, although we have yet to meet. But some friendships go back a lot further. And they also have their roots in a shared hobby. In the late sixties, early seventies, we had a garage band in Denmark, we wrote songs, recorded demos and made band photos, and dreamed of fame and fortune. We are still waiting for the last part, but for my 50th birthday, the friends had found this photo in my photo-album and transformed it into the album-cover of the record we never made. After 30 years of friendship that is worth more than any gold record hit - in fact it is the biggest hit anyone can dream of.

Technically it is just an old black and white photo, scanned, with the drummer and the bass player (who were missing on that particular photo session) pasted in, titles added and offered to me. I have now reworked it for the web, adding a sepia filter and some contrast - and yes, it's yours truly in the middle.

Wow, Per, this is great. On one side I see one very young Neil Young, on the other side would you believe Nick Drake ! Very creative work and what a great note.

5* for this one !

Keep em coming

At first I thought I saw Ray Manzarek & Jim Morrison of the Doors, Per ;o). I think the font, text effect, b&w and the tilt in the photo create a coherent, late sixties - early seventies mood. TFS.

Even the thumbnail made me laugh already. It brought back memories of a swedish guy I met in Greece who was drummer in a band and even carried copies of the demosingle they had produced, to hand out to new friends. (still have it lying around somewhere...)
The picture is well representing that era. The pasted-in head is obvious :-) but seen the source and history of the picture, much critique isn't in order.

This one is great, What a bunch of cool guys you were! It's definitely a beautiful tribute to friendship. Great pp work too. I liked the fact that you took the trouble to include the 2 friends that were missing in the original photo. Well done!
Ana

Great nostalgic picture Per. Marvellous composition, and use of black and white. Nice to see an oldie on the site. Well done.

Peter

classic and well done! the sepia works wonders, so which one's u? you made me smile with this:)

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Per, and very funny post.
Looks always funny now to know that you could buy a camera with the money from the record you never made (and shoes too :-)))
A great smile for this post to the Frienship.
I like it

Hey Per, you look like a blonde Roy Orbison.
This is such a nice souvenier you friends made for you. Something much better than a big hit song, although I know your band played very well. I like the curviture of the text. Nice touch. Pity it's 1971, as it would have been great for the 1960's scavenger hunt.

hey per, nice spoken in you note!
looks like a real album cover.very well done!looks like a real famous band out of the 60's !

Great note Per and congrats on your 100th post. This would make a great concert poster, well done.

Here's to old friends and good memories, Per. This is totally awesome and it has made a great CD cover for the tracks you guys actually played.....Too bad you never made the big time, but in my book, you did for sure.....:O)

Oh - too bad Per - I'm actually quited both TL and TN to concentrate on TE - and I even have cut down there as well. Oh - nice to learn a bit more about your past - I was actually fooled by the cover - may be I had missed something in the 70ies - Congratulation with your post number 100 - keep up the good work.

Wow, Per, great! I'll buy your album when it's in stores, I love Danish music! Good idea to post this one and thank you for the good note!

Hi Per thanks a million great job, the theme is really going well now.
great job.
christine.

I missed this one earlier but ck reminded me to take a look at the theme collection. Dated? Never! This one sits nicely in the Classic Rock section at my record store and I too see Roy Orbison with a wig on and a young Jim Morrison near the barn door/s (!),
Good 'retro' design.

Hi Per,

Picture is worth a thousand words.

In this case even more.

LOVE IT!!
