Its a good sharp shot of this herrum, only next time I would have cropped the left top out Jens.. the road, fill it with the copy past system.. using the green of the top right.

Superb image here, really sharp and excellent detail. Remember when photographing animals not to crop to closely around the head, think of it like leaving them plenty of room to breath in the image.

it's a Grey Heron the scientific name is "Ardea cinerea".. (not me.. but wikipedia!!)

Could this be a heron Jens? I'm so not good with all those birds names.
Hejre/heron looks alike to me.....
If he has occupied this home he better be satisfied with sitting on the roof, so then the duck can still go inside.
I see Denmark also enjoys the most bright and sunny autumn weather possible ^-^.

Hello Jens,

The heron looks just like a sculpture! When I was young, I never saw these birds! Now they are relatively common and anyone who has a fish pond, knows them quite well!

The sharpness is good as is the detail. I love the clear reflection in in the water! It's almost like two for the price of one!

Ha!! Good one Jens!! We used to have a goldfish pond when we moved here 20 years ago and a grey heron udes to stand in the middle of the pond - trying to catch the fish. But we had a netting over it and he wasn't very lucky...
