Hi Jens,
very nice, and creative but I think you still need to make adjustments to the background so it has a contrast to the color of the the feather on the pigeons. And then you have to clean your yard when you got all those pigeons at home :-) But a very nice and creative work from you my friend.

They both have that incredible expression!

Excellent sharpness and detail! Pity about the cropped tail. It might have been possible to clone the tail from one onto the other! You are good at pp work.

First of all, concerning the BG, and as is frequently mentioned here; to each his or her own opinion...I actually like the BG of your previous photo as I find it provides a better DOF and more natural view.
Concerning this photo; you did a great job as our immediate thought is that there really are two pigeons!
