The Cruise season has started in Copenhagen.
This year first cruise ship that visited Copenhagen, were Jewel of the Sea.
The ship called at Copenhagen on April 15th and sailed off today the 16 April at 12.00.
Copenhagen has developed into to be North Europe's largest cruise destinations, and until now not any les has than 307 large cruisers reported their arrival in the season that runs from April 15th until last September.
With an average on 2.400 passengers per ship, means that more than 700.000 sailing tourists will visit Copenhagen in the summer of 2008. Un top of that some of the crew will of course also make a visit in the city, and with an average off 1.000 crewmember per ship, it will be more than 300.000 crewmembers.
All those people ore the most of them will be controlled by the Police force in Copenhagen, that means that I will have the pleasure to visit the most off these arrival cruise ships. A nice break from my duty in Copenhagen Airport. And the 19. of May the ship “Norwegian Jewel” where I meet Mr. John Tulip, will visit Copenhagen for the first time, that will also visit us several times during this summer. Perhaps I will know some crewmembers from last year, ho knows.
Next season still stay bigger, as they’re even now is reported more than 300 arrivals to 2009.
This photo has taken while Jewel of the Sea is leaving the quay, whose name is “Langelinie”, out of sight, right behind Jewel it's the well-known "Lille Havfrue" (The Little Mermaid) placed.

The photo has gone from the inner pier, No essential changes enacted, except the size are changed to TL for uploading.

Focal length 85 mm.
ISO 100.

Have a nice evening.
Jens.

Very impressive Jens, you are getting inpatient to be on the cruise I think.

Hope you keep an eye on Mr.T, sothat he will not get lost in little alleyways and will be back on the cruise ship in time.

Thanks for this lovely picture that is totally giving me a holiday feeling.
